Past April, Otey’s commercial team went on to assist to the Petfood Forum, the main event of the petfood industry in the world, which takes place annually at Kansas City, USA. This is the first visit to a petfood related expo for Otey, thus reaffirming their interest to reach this important niche.
Business Manager Isaac Rosenblum, talked about the importance for Otey to be attending the event: “For us, it represented a very good chance to show our products; although we’ve been so far supplying our products for the aqua industry, they’re 100% suitable for petfood as well. We’ve been in talks with some expositors and although they were skeptics at first, they’ve shown a very good interest for our products. Besides, it has been very important to know first-hand the singularities of this market, actually, a lot of their questions had been for requirements that are not so much of interest to the aqua market”. Company’s CEO, Javier Waldron, added that “we took advantage of the opportunity this important event gave us to meet with old friends, with whom we discussed about the state of the industry and the trends that are coming in terms of demand, product set, etc. It has been a very intense trip because we went on to some other things related to other companies of the Holding. Fortunately, we were able to close some deals, so I have to say that we leave Kansas very satisfied, and with many tasks ahead to start when we’re back in Chile.
The forum took place between April 29th and May 1st, and gathered around 400 expositors, who received to nearly 3,900 visitors from 48 countries.
